Noah Kahan was forced to cancel his Queens, New York concert at the last minute Saturday due to inclement weather in the area.

With heavy rain, severe thunderstorms and strong winds expected in the tristate area Saturday, Kahan’s team and Citi Field officials first attempted to delay the concert a few hours, pushing back doors opening to 7:30 p.m. and removing the opening acts from the bill.

However, even with the revised schedule, the weather situation proved too risky for stadium officials, who made the decision to cancel Saturday’s concert after some fans had already arrived at Citi Field.

“The show tonight at Citi Field has been canceled due to inclement weather. This was a very difficult decision to make, but the first priority is always to keep everyone safe,” the stadium said.

“I am so incredibly sorry. We waited as long as we possibly could in hopes that the weather would clear, but it became clear that it wasn’t safe for us, the crew or all of you,” Kahan said on social media Saturday after he “exhausted every option to make this happen.”

“I know so many of you travelled, made plans and have been looking forward to this night for a long time. I’m devastated. We’ll do everything we can to come back and make this right. Thank you for understanding, and I’m so sorry.”

With Kahan’s sold out tour already booked through December, the decision was made to cancel the outdoor gig as opposed to rescheduling for the way-distant future. However, weather permitting, Kahan is scheduled to perform Sunday night at Citi Field, the second of two sold-out shows he booked at the home of the Mets.

Kahan wasn’t the only artist playing outside in Queens on Saturday that had their concert nixed: Zeds Dead was scheduled to play at the nearby Forest Hills Stadium, but that show was postponed until August.

“The weather is just being too difficult,” Zeds Dead wrote in a statement. “There’s another storm that’s supposed to move in and we can’t even build our production anyway with all the delays from the rain already. So sorry to have to do this we really were looking forward to this one for a long time. We were hopeful all yesterday and today, and thought if the winds and lightning held off we could at least have a time in the rain and it would maybe even be more magical but alas there is no way to do it now. Once again very sorry but we have to be on the side of safety here. “
