How do you follow James Bond after Daniel Craig killed him off and still make it make sense? According to the latest rumours, Amazon MGM’s solution is to take Bond back to his Ian Fleming novel roots with a 1950s setting. According to The Sun’s insider: “They can’t just pretend [Bond’s death] didn’t happen. So they’re looking at his story as a younger man in a different era.” Meanwhile, actor Daniel Mays told the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast: “I heard a rumour they’re going to cast someone very young and go back to the origins. They’re going to have all the retro cars and that sort of stuff — and start again. I think that would be kind of cool.” And if that wasn’t enough, there are (Double-O) seven young stars who are apparently in the running to be cast by producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal.
