Next James Bond favourite backed by Pierce Brosnan ‘He would be wonderful’ | Films | Entertainment
Casting for the next James Bond will be well underway now that Amazon MGM Studios has hired David Heyman and Amy Pascal to helm the reboot.
Despite the Broccoli family selling their creative control, fans remain hopeful for the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill, who have grabbed the attention of EON Productions in recent years.
Meanwhile, former 007 Pierce Brosnan, who starred as Ian Fleming’s spy in four movies, has shared that one of the bookies’ favourites “would be wonderful” in the most coveted role in Hollywood.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the 72-year-old initially said: “ I have no picks. I shall leave it open to the powers that be. It’s a very exciting moment in the history of James Bond. Now that Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson, former franchise producers] have relinquished the reins of it.” However, when his MobLand co-star Tom Hardy was brought up, he changed his tune.
Brosnan replied; “Oh! [Laughs] Tom would be wonderful. There’s so many great actors out there who could portray this character. I have no idea who, I have no idea. I wish whoever it is great success. Toi toi toi.”
