Next James Bond announcement may be much sooner than 007 fans think | Films | Entertainment
Last year, Amazon MGM Studios announced that David Heyman and Amy Pascal would be the new producers of the James Bond film franchise.
The streaming giant, which bought creative control from EON Productions, soon confirmed that Dune’s Denis Villeneuve will direct Bond 26 with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight as screenwriter.
A couple of weeks ago, the latter confirmed that news would be coming “soon”. Just how soon, though, is the question. In fact, one decent bet is as early as next week.
Next week, the Daily Express will attend CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where major Hollywood studios will tease their latest film slates in special presentations. On Wednesday, April 15, between 8:30pm and 10:15pm PST, Amazon MGM Studios is giving theirs. This would be the most obvious spot for a next Bond announcement of some sort.
It would be pretty mind-blowing if Amazon brought the new Bond actor on stage to unveil Bond 26’s title and release date. Although our best bet would be to reveal a date for such an announcement in London, keeping with the British feel. But, then again, 007 is a big fan of casinos and where better than Las Vegas?
