A film enthusiast is urging Netflix viewers to watch ‘one of the best films of the year’ before spoilers begin doing the rounds online.

Eccy Reviews, who shares recommendations for series and films on TikTok, insists Train Dreams deserves a spot at the top of everyone’s viewing queue.

The 2025 film, helmed by Clint Bentley, adapts Denis Johnson’s acclaimed novella.

It presents the “moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century.”

Featuring Joel Edgerton, Clifton Collins Jr., and Felicity Jones, the film has secured three awards and garnered 22 award nominations.

Taking to social media, Eccy Reviews revealed: “It has been one of my most anticipated films of the year.”

“It has had so much good word of mouth. I saw it a couple of weeks ago in the cinema but I just need to talk about it after I rewatched it because it is truly an incredible film.

“I didn’t just cry once but twice. I was crying so much, I was crying even when the credits rolled. Please get this film on your watch list.”

Responding to the video, one viewer commented: “Incredible film. Loved it.”

Another viewer remarked: “Watched this Friday and as a man this broke me.”

Whilst a third cinema-goer enthused: “It’s just beautiful.”

In an IMDb review, one audience member wrote: “A simple life illuminated by beauty and shadowed by loss.

“Train Dreams is a rare film that transports you on a sweeping, nostalgic journey through one man’s story. It has become one of my favourite films of all time.

“Joel Edgerton is flawlessly beautiful. It is for sure one of the best films of the year.”

Another added: “Robert’s live is gently lived and not without deep tragedy. The film evokes our own memories, little joys and sadness, discoveries, losses, and hopes to bring grace to our self reflection.

“The film is heartbreakingly beautiful. The acting, editing, direction are just right. Looking forward to more performances from Edgerton.”
