‘Neighbour won’t stop creeping on us but 1 question wound me up’
Whether you adore or despise your neighbours, there’s simply no escaping them. They could be entitled types or testing the waters with the parking, whatever the case, they can occasionally prove extremely irritating.
One woman, currently seven months pregnant while caring for a toddler, has spoken candidly about her neighbour. While her pregnancy hasn’t been straightforward, both she and her husband hold demanding professional positions.
With the pair working over 50 hours weekly while managing family life with another child on the way, it’s fair to say their garage hasn’t topped their list of priorities.
However, her neighbour appears troubled by the situation – to such an extent they’ve raised concerns about the untidiness outside.
Writing in a Reddit post, the woman explained: “I am currently 7 months pregnant with a 2-year-old and my pregnancy has been… less than ideal…”
She added: “I have been nauseous every single day since August and on top of that taking care of a 2-year-old and working in a very high pressure career. To preface… could our garage be cleaner? Yes.
“But my husband and I both regularly work 50+ hour weeks and we have been obviously prioritising… literally anything but the garage.”
The woman assured readers their garage hasn’t reached “hoarder levels”, though there’s a toddler swing and bicycle which remain “visible from the window”.
Regarding her neighbour, she added: “Today they came over and asked us to put up blinds in our garage window so he didn’t have to look at our junk…”
She went on: “Which can only be seen at night if the light is on which is almost never (again… 7 months pregnant… I go to bed at like 8pm). Anyhow, he asked my lovely teddy bear of a husband who was so caught off guard and was just like oh uh ok?
“He knew better than to ask the miserable pregnant lady. Anyhow, I don’t plan on prioritising adding blinds to our garage when I have about 1 million other things to do before baby gets here.”
She concluded her post by seeking advice from forum members on how to deal with her bothersome neighbour.
One individual suggested: “Make nice signs you can put in the windows that say, ‘Stop looking in my windows, creep’ or ‘We put these here because of an annoying neighbour’.”
Another proposed: “Get a rubber mask prop it up with binoculars looking out the window.”
While a third humorously recommended: “Get blinds made with pictures of junk on them.”
