Moft adds a tracker and shutter button to its magnetic tripod wallet
Moft’s MagSafe wallets have long been overachievers with folding designs that double as smartphone stands. Its latest creation, the Moft Trackable Tripod Wallet, does even more. It carries forward the same functionality as Moft’s original magnetic wallet that unfolds into a miniature tripod, but adds built-in tracking capabilities through Apple’s Find My network, and a wireless remote for your phone’s shutter button, for just $10 more.
The Trackable Tripod Wallet is now available for preorder through Moft’s online store for $59.99, with shipping expected to start in late April. At 10mm it’s about a millimeter thicker than the previous version of the tripod wallet, but Moft managed to squeeze a tracker, a 70-decibel alarm for pinpointing its location, and a wirelessly chargeable Qi-compatible 6-month battery into that minimal extra space.
Made from vegan leather with enough capacity for two credit cards, the folding tripod legs are attached to the wallet with an adjustable hinge that’s strong enough to support an attached phone at various angles. The integrated remote shutter button connects to your phone over Bluetooth so it can be used to snap photos even while the wallet isn’t attached. While the wallet’s tracking capabilities are limited to Apple’s network, the wallet’s other features should be compatible with any phone offering a magnetic Qi2 mount on the back.
