‘Masterpiece’ Netflix movie starring Tom Hardy is ‘the best thing you will watch in 2025’ | Films | Entertainment

There are plenty of action films out there, and many of them star big names. But when Tom Hardy takes the lead, expectations go through the roof. He’s widely seen as one of the most talented actors of his generation, and fans know that anything with Hardy in it is bound to be worth watching.

That’s certainly true for a new Netflix film that’s divided opinion but left a huge impact on many viewers. One reviewer wrote: “It’s the best action movie of all time and I can’t stop watching it.” Another added: “I loved the movie. Great action, guns, and gore. Overall I’ve seen the movie four times now and I think it’s a masterpiece.”

A third said: “Everything with Tom Hardy in it is bound to be worth a watch. This film is no different. Many people don’t like it but I think it’s the best thing you will watch in 2025.”

The film in question is Havoc, which was released on Netflix in April. It stars Hardy as a detective caught in a dangerous fight through a criminal underworld after a politician’s son goes missing.

Set in a fictional American city, the movie features plenty of bloody action including brutal combat scenes.

The film was written and directed by Gareth Evans, the man behind The Raid.

Alongside Hardy, the cast includes Jessie Mei Li, Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant and Justin Cornwell.

Although the movie is set in the US, most of it was filmed in Cardiff and Swansea. It’s been described as one of the biggest productions ever made in Wales.

Filming originally took place in 2021, but reshoots were delayed by industry strikes.

While the movie has been praised by many, it hasn’t won everyone over. Some viewers said it was too extreme, with one even describing it as “a relentless moronic blood bath”.
