‘Masterpiece’ horror movie with ‘greatest twist’ available on Prime | Films | Entertainment

With Halloween creeping up, there’s no better time of the year to watch a horror movie. If you’re looking for something to watch, this film will leave you on the edge of your seat. This hit film is a favourite for many horror fans. According to Collider, the ending is one of the greatest twists of all time.

Based on a hit novel by Stephen King, The Mist was first released in 2007. A synopsis for the film on IMDb reads: “After a massive thunderstorm, an eerie, unwavering fog descends upon a Maine community. Locals seek refuge in a grocery store from the monstrous creatures now roaming the countryside killing everyone they encounter.”

One person on Rotten Tomatoes says: “Very creepy, leaving a bitter aftertaste, The Mist is an absolute masterpiece of the horror genre (best horror movie of 2000). Thomas Jane is amazing in this movie. The final rips the heart to pieces.”

Another person who watched the film said: “This is the first time I think a movie is better than the book.”

The Mist remains one of Stephen King’s most celebrated adaptations, but it didn’t become a cult classic overnight. 

Today, it’s a well-known and much-loved story that has become another one of King’s hits.

Frank Darabont, the director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, directed this popular adaptation of King’s work.

Darabont creates a heartbreaking film telling the tale of people trapped in a grocery store, surrounded by monsters from another dimension.

The film was shot in just 37 days, an impressively short amount of time for a film with such strong visuals.
