‘Masterpiece’ drama that’s ‘one of best movies ever’ is on Amazon Prime | Films | Entertainment

If you’re looking for a hit film to watch that will keep you engaged until the end, there’s one you can’t miss out on. This famous film is one that’s known for its iconic scenes, and it’s easily quotable. Starring big names such as Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio, it’s a must watch.

The Wolf of Wallstreet is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort and his rise to becoming a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film has cemented itself as one of the director’s best. A fan on Rotten Tomatoes said: “What a masterpiece! wild, entertaining, and brilliantly executed.” Another said: “One of the best movies I’ve ever seen.”

During the production of the movie, Belfort acted as an advisor for DiCaprio. 

He estimated that he spent hundreds of hours with the actor, telling him the details of his financial schemes and explaining the physical and mental effects of the drugs he was taking at the time.

Another fan of the film on Rotten Tomatoes said: “The Wolf of Wall Street is chaotic, outrageous, and razor-sharp, but what truly elevates it is Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance. 

“This is Leo at his absolute peak: fearless, unhinged, charismatic, and disturbingly convincing. 

“He doesn’t just play Jordan Belfort, he becomes him, making excess, greed, and moral decay feel both seductive and horrifying at the same time. 

“DiCaprio carries the film with relentless energy, effortlessly shifting between dark comedy, arrogance, vulnerability, and complete self-destruction.”

When writing his memoir, Belfort used real names but for the film, some of the names were changed. 

This allowed Scorsese some artistic license, but not only this, some people did not want their names to be used in the film.

Jonah Hill’s character Donnie Azoff is not specifically a real person, though he is reportedly based on Danny Porush, who threatened to sue if his name was used.
