Marks and Spencer customers ‘so disappointed’ as retail giant axes popular product

Marks and Spencer shoppers have been left disappointed after the retail giant announced it is axing a popular product. Customers shared their upset after discovering that the product is no longer available to purchase in-store or online.

The Florentyna Classic Floral Eau de Toilette was a popular fragrance that perfume lovers said smelt like a designer brand. Fans discussed the product online after realising they could no longer purchase it, and many are unhappy about it.

One customer said: “So disappointed that you cannot get anything in this range”.

Another described the move to discontinue the fragrance as a “shame”.

A third complained that they will “have to find a new fragrance” now that the Florentyna Classic Floral Eau de Toilette is no longer available. The affordable fragrance was often said to “smell expensive”, making it extremely popular with a range of customers.

A spokesperson for M&S said: “We continue to listen to customer feedback to evolve our own-brand fragrance ranges.

“While this product is no longer available, we have an extensive range of incredibly popular fragrances to offer, all at amazing price points.”

In other M&S news, the retailer will open a new food hall in Abington. From April 22, customers will have access to fresh produce from M&S’s Select Farm partners, an in-store bakery and coffee counter, as well as a rotisserie chicken counter.

Paddy Sunderland, store manager at M&S Abingdon, has worked at M&S for six years and said of the opening: “We cannot wait to open our brand-new store in the heart of Oxfordshire. The team and I are so excited to welcome customers through the doors and showcase the very best of M&S Food and the quality and trusted value we’re known for.”

The 18,000 sq ft store will be located at Fairacres Retail Park, overtaking the former Homebase site. The retailer also revealed that the new store opening created 75 jobs for the local area.
