Man buys DVD and finds four-word note hidden inside CD case
Buying a DVD is certainly a thing of the past, but many people still turn to their devices to watch a good movie from time to time. Film fans, or people who love to collect classics, are likely to still own a stash for their DVD player.
And just recently, one man was left floored when he opened a DVD case – only to find an unexpected four-word note hidden inside the pack.
In a post on Reddit, the person shared an image of the case, alongside the message written inside. The movie fan was excited to put their CD in to watch 300, which stars Gerard Butler and Lena Headey.
The iconic film, which was released in 2007, follows the ancient battle of Thermopylae, King Leonidas and 300 Spartans who fight against Xerxes and his massive Persian army.
Based on a true story, the 480 BC Battle of Thermopylae, the film is a highly stylised and fictionalised adaption of Frank Miller’s graphic novel. Meanwhile when the man opened the case – he found a message which read: “Go watch Deadpool instead.”
In the Reddit post, the person wrote: “I just bought this DVD and this case with it.”
Meanwhile in the comments section, people also found the message funny as one wrote: “Good advice.”
Another commented: “They make a fair point.” While a third admitted: “Deadpool is annoying.”
Deadpool and 300 can differ in both tone and style. Anyone who fancies a comedy would most likely turn to Deadpool, while others who prefer more fantasy and seriousness would prefer 300.
Meanwhile Deadpool and Wolverine managed to outperform 300 by reaching $1billion in gross.
Sharing the discovery on Reddit, he said: “Found this riddle hidden in my house. We came across it in a duct or something in our rental house. It’s been stuck on my fridge unsolved for more than five years.”
The note reads: “Riddle me this: Once a calm keeper, always true. Now a hard sleeper, there for you. What is green, grey and always dry?”
Still searching for answers, the man turned to social media in the hope that other users could help solve the puzzle.
In response, one user suggested: “Sage – it means wise advice, truth, and is a calming sleep aid, while also being greenish, greyish and dried.”
