“The sweet boy who spent 10 years with the same family, only to lose everything when a new baby arrived.

“We hoped his story would touch someone’s heart. We hoped someone would say, ‘We’ll take him.’

“But days have turned into weeks… And Iasonas is still there.”

The rescue explained that every day Iasonas wakes up behind kennel bars, still hoping the next person who walks past will finally take him home.

“After spending 10 years in a home, shelter life is no place for a dog like Iasonas,” they said.

“He doesn’t understand why his world disappeared overnight.”

Despite everything he has been through, rescuers say Iasonas has never lost his loving nature.

At around 10 years old and weighing between 25kg and 26kg, he is described as gentle, calm and devoted to people, making him the perfect companion for someone looking to adopt an older dog.

“He doesn’t need perfection. He doesn’t need a big house,” the rescue added.

“He just needs someone willing to give him the love he has always given so freely.”

The rescue is now appealing for people to share Iasonas’ story in the hope it reaches someone willing to offer him the retirement he deserves.

They added: “Please don’t let him spend the rest of his life waiting behind bars.”

Iasonas is currently being cared for in Greece but is available for adoption in the UK through Greek Stray Rescue.
