Football superstar Lionel Messi has sparked excitement among fans by launching a treasure hunt across England, Wales, and Scotland.

The challenge involves finding 10 special bottles of his new beverage, Mas+ by Messi, hidden in various locations.

Starting from Monday 17th at 4pm, supporters will need to keep an eye out for one of the signed golden capped editions of the drink, potentially concealed in any of the 2,600 Spar stores throughout the UK.

It’s suggested that the winning bottles could be located anywhere from Edinburgh to Wrexham or London, with the grand prize being a trip for two to Miami.

This includes flights, accommodation, and tickets to an Inter Miami CF match. Other fortunate winners who find a signed bottle will receive a lifetime supply of the drink and exclusive Messi merchandise.

Messi stated: “Both in football and in any challenge, the motivation to achieve the goal is what drives everyone, so I hope the hunt brings excitement to those who are always striving for their own moments of success, now powered by Más+.

“Good luck to everyone searching, and I hope to see the winner in the stands in Miami soon.”

Ten SPAR stores across the UK will distribute the first 100 bottles for free on a first-come-first-served basis, and one of these 100 will have a winning gold cap.

This hunt signifies the official UK launch of the drink, which Messi claims to have been involved in every step of its creation.

He had a vision to create a hydration drink that would not only help people achieve their goals but also be something he could share with his friends, family and teammates.

As a result, four unique flavours were crafted, each one inspired by significant milestones in his illustrious career.

‘Miami Punch’ is a nod to his current club, Inter Miami FC; ‘Orange d’Or’ pays homage to his eight Ballon d’Or wins, ‘Berry Copa Crush’ honours his Copa America victory, and ‘Limon Lime League’ celebrates his four Champions League titles.

Despite Mas translating to ‘more’ in Spanish, Mas+ by Messi contains just 1g of sugar and a mere 10 calories per 500ml bottle, with no artificial colours or sweeteners.

Since its launch in Miami last June, the drink has seen phenomenal success, selling over 3.5 million units.

Jeremy Kanter, from the footballer’s beverage company, said: “We knew we had to launch Más+ by Messi in the UK with big energy.

“We wanted to bring people together through their shared love of the beautiful game and encourage positive hydration.”
