Lewis Capaldi put an acoustic, tender touch on Paramore‘s “Still Into You” during his latest appearance in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. The singer-songwriter delivered his rendition of the record with a skillfully assembled band complete with a string and horn section, turning the explosive pop record into something more suited for a walk down the aisle.

Certain moments in Capaldi’s take on “Still Into You” evoke the warm opening chords of Coldplay’s “Fix You.” During his visit, he also selected two of his own records to perform, the currently unreleased record “Almost” and “Pointless,” from his 2023 album Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. Capaldi rounded out the session with the live version of his latest single, “Something in the Heavens.”

Later that year, Capaldi plans to release an EP that includes his recent singles and the material he’s been teasing during his string of comeback performances. “I don’t know about an album, but I’m doing an EP at some point this year, and then an album maybe will follow next year,” Capaldi said earlier this year. He recently announced an extensive tour, his first since stepping away from the public eye for a stretch of time while managing his battle with Tourette’s syndrome.

Capaldi is the latest artist to enter the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for the 2025 Live Lounge Month series. His appearance follows performances from Renée Rapp, who delivered a cover of SZA’s “Good Days,” and Olivia Dean, among others. The remainder of October will see sets from Demi Lovato, Wet Leg, Mumford & Sons, Louis Tomlinson, and Florence + the Machine.

Paramore last appeared in the Live Lounge in 2017, when they covered Drake’s “Passionfruit” and performed the After Laughter single “Hard Times.” In 2020, Hayley Williams made a solo appearance that included her solo record “Simmer” and a cover of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.”

Rolling Stone recently named “Still Into You” the 63rd best song of the 21st century, writing, “Its vibrant rhythm, all thick bass and thunderous drums, communicates every word left unsaid (and in the process avoids cheesy wedding-ballad purgatory). Enthralled listeners immediately took — and still take — Paramore’s breakout hit to be a timeless, whole-bodied model of effervescent endearment.”
