Keep spiders out of your home with cleaning expert’s ‘magic spray’
With spider mating season in full swing, homes across the UK are seeing an increase in eight-legged visitors.
However, Australian cleaning expert Chantel Mila, known as ‘Mama Mila’ to her millions of social media followers, has a natural solution to keep spiders and other unwanted critters at bay.
Autumn is the prime time for spiders to seek out warm indoor spots like bedrooms and bathrooms, much to the dismay of many homeowners.
But fear not—Mila’s chemical-free “magic spray” uses everyday ingredients to repel spiders, fruit flies, and crawling insects without harsh chemicals.
Mila’s viral video introduces a simple three-step method, starting with a rosemary and water mix to combat spiders.
“Mix a cup of water with sprigs of rosemary and spray it on windows and doors,” she explains, noting that spiders are repelled by the strong scent of rosemary.
Her second tip addresses fruit flies, advising homeowners to pour boiling water down the drain to eliminate fruit flies and their eggs.
Finally, to keep other insects at bay, Mila recommends adding a few drops of orange oil to your mop water, creating a natural deterrent for crawling bugs.
She also reminds viewers to be cautious when using essential oils around pets.
Mila’s post quickly went viral, with many fans expressing their gratitude.
One user shared: “Good to know, my friend got bitten by a spider and ended up in hospital.”
Others, however, offered their own tips, with one commenter suggesting mint as an effective repellent against stink bugs.
Whether you’re dealing with spider sightings or other pesky intruders, Mama Mila’s “magic spray” might just be the natural, effective solution your home needs this autumn.
