Jones Road Miracle Balm trio slashed in price

Who said Christmas stockings were just for kids? Not us. Sometimes, the little gifts and extras found in the bottom of a festive sock are way better than those under the tree. If you’re stuck for ideas that feel a bit more special than soaps or chocolate, beauty minis are always a safe bet, especially when they’re something you know people will actually use. I’m already a huge fan of Jones Road’s Miracle Balms, so this mini trio immediately caught my eye — especially as it’s currently reduced from £46 to £41.

I’ve detailed my experience of Miracle Balm before (though not these shades), but I know what to expect in terms of texture and finish. Jones Road, founded by makeup artist Bobbi Brown, is known for its skin-first approach, and Miracle Balm is one of its best-loved products for good reason. It’s designed to give a natural glow rather than heavy coverage, making it ideal for everyday wear.

This mini trio includes three exclusive shades you can’t buy individually. There’s Après, a cool mauve tint; Noir, a deep plum blush shade; and Ballerina, a sheer golden pink with a subtle shimmer that would work nicely as a highlighter. Each pot is smaller than the full-size version, which makes this set ideal for gifting. It’s also great for trying out shades without committing to a larger pot. 

If you’ve never used Miracle Balm before, it’s worth knowing that it’s not a traditional cream blush or highlighter. The texture is balm-like and it’s made for building. It’s not going to give a highly pigmented finish and because of its hydrating consistency, too much and it will feel greasy. I’ve found the best way to apply it is to warm it between your fingers first, then press it gently into the skin. You don’t need much, as mentioned, but it’s easy to build if you want a more dramatic colour.

What I like most about Miracle Balm is how natural it looks once it’s on. It doesn’t sit on top of the skin or look overly shiny, but gives a nice glow. I tend to use it mostly on my cheeks and under my brows. 

Another plus about these mini sizes is that they’re small enough to pop in your handbag, and because they’re balms rather than powders, they’re less likely to shatter or spill.
