Roman Griffin David burst into the spotlight in 2019 after landing the titular role in the Hollywood blockbuster, Jojo Rabbit, for his acting debut. The role shot him into stardom and saw him take home a Critics’ Choice Award, and he was nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG Award.

Although he is widely remembered for being a fresh-faced 12-year-old, six years after the movie’s release, David is near-unrecognisable. As a fully fledged teenager, the actor has continued to embrace his bouncy curls with a much fuller look. David also seemingly cashed out on a smile makeover in recent years, as his smile now flashes straight and bright teeth.

Photos from his Instagram also boast of David’s significant increase in height as he towers over a car in his most recent photo.

This is a stark difference from his public appearance at the Jojo Rabbit premiere, where he was the shortest among his co-stars, which included Taika Waititi and Scarlett Johansson.

While he did return to the spotlight in the 2021 comedy Silent Night, which was directed by his mother Camille Griffin, the 19-year-old returned to screens for a new release.

David has lent his voice to the animated Christian film, King of Kings, where he stars as Walter Dickens.

The star-studded line-up also includes Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, Forest Whitaker and Uma Thurman.

Later this year, David will also star in the dystopian horror film, The Long Walk, which is currently in post-production.

In an interview about his latest release, the actor reflected on his first-ever role and said: “I’m not in a different age bracket, which is a little trickier but it means I can go up for roles which are not so limiting.

“I was very lucky with Jojo because its such a brilliant role, they don’t come around, roles like that for kids or young adults. Now I’m growing up, I’m starting to get more material that has more complex characters that I can play,” David told The Independent.
