Hollywood icon Johnny Depp sparked a major meltdown among fans after debuting an entirely different appearance. In the first images released for his upcoming movie, Day Drinker, the 61-year-old looked unrecognisable with a full head of grey hair and a matching full beard.

For his new role, the actor’s eyes were transformed to be strikingly blue instead of his usual hazel colour. In the photo, Depp wore a stylish deep blue suit while leaning against a bar with a cocktail in hand and a captivated expression. His new look sent fans into a frenzy as they swooned over the actor’s new look, including one who said: “And here I thought Johnny Depp couldn’t get more attractive.”

A second fan praised: “He looks better as a silver fox than any other style I’ve seen so far. This is really a game changer.”

As another remarked: “Did not realise that was Johnny Depp till I read the caption!”

“The way I gasped and thought this was Ai!! You look so good, Captain,” remarked a fourth.

His other followers applauded the film’s makeup team, as one said: “Shout out to the makeup department for the amazing transformation.”

The upcoming release of Day Drinker marks Depp’s eagerly awaited return to Hollywood following years of personal turmoil and legal drama.

This includes his 2022 victory after winning the highly publicised civil defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, who described herself as a victim of domestic abuse, which the court decided was defamatory against Depp.

Day Drinker will reunite the actor with Penelope Cruz, making this their fourth project together. They previously shared the screen in Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express.

According to the film’s synopsis, it will follow a “private yacht bartender who encounters a mysterious onboard guest. They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure and connected in ways no one saw coming.”

As well as Cruz, Depp will star alongside Madelyn Cline, Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto and Anika Boyle.
