Johnny Depp return hopes soar after Pirates of the Caribbean 6 latest news | Films | Entertainment
Eight years on from Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge and fans continue to skull and crossbones their fingers for a Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow return.
And now franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer has given the latest update while promoting his latest film F1: The Movie.
In a new interview, the 81-year-old said of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 said: “We’re working on a screenplay. Hopefully we’ll get it right — and then we’ll make it. We really want to make it, that’s for sure.”
Although, to be honest, we wouldn’t be surprised if Depp was only a cameo in Pirates 6 before a full return in a seventh film after setting up new characters. The real question is can Pirates of the Caribbean command the box office without its star? For some fans it’s “No Johnny, no Pirates” and they’ll happily boycott a sequel without him.
