‘Jewel of the North’ crowned ‘prettiest’ English village to visit in winter

North Yorkshire is highly acclaimed by writers and travellers for its beauty, with winter being an optimal time to enjoy the area’s scenic displays.

Several clips highlight The Old Swan Hotel as being a top pick among visitors, as it’s located five minutes from Harrogate town centre and train station.

The TikTok user @sophieintheuk posted a clip of the spa town last winter, describing it as the “prettiest town” in the caption. Travel blogger @vitnija echoed this opinion in a clip on the town’s top attractions.

“Only 2.5 hours from London is the beautiful spa town of Harrogate,” the travel blogger declared. “Often called the jewel of the north, it boats an insta-worthy mile of cherry blossoms.”

It also is home to “charming gardens and stunning historic Royal baths,” once frequented by celebrities like Oscar Wilde.
