Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, attended the Oscars on Sunday evening together, with the couple having front row seats to the star-studded ceremony. At one point, Kylie, who was wearing a figure-hugging red glittering dress for the occasion, leaned into Timothée, but his wiggling legs hinted at how uncomfortable he was. Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Daily Mail what she believed the Marty Supreme actor was saying to his partner at that moment. According to Nicola, he said: “I hate this,” while forcing a smile. She claimed Kyle said in response: “We’re all right, okay.” Later, Nicola alleged the actor said: “Tonight – I need a big cuddle.”

Timothée was the frontrunner to win the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Marty Supreme, but Sinners star Michael B Jordan was presented with the accolade on the night.

Nicola also revealed to The Mirror what Timothée appeared to ask his sister, Pauline, about Kylie at the event. During the ceremony, Timothée was seen speaking to his sibling and said: “Where are you sitting?”

She pointed to her seat, and Kylie reached out to greet her, reportedly complimenting Pauline’s dress.

Nicola claimed the Oscar-nominee leaned in and seemed to refer to 28-year-old Kylie, asking his sister: “Could you go easy on her?”

Pauline appeared to say “okay” and Timothée repeated his request, saying: “I want you to go easy on her.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Timothée’s representatives for comment.

The actor has been in hot water in the run-up to the Academy Awards after he made a comment which offended during an interview with fellow actor Matthew McConaughey.

During their conversation, the 30-year-old said: “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there.”

The remark sparked a tidal wave of backlash on social media, with Oscars host Conan O’Brien’s event highlighting the moment as he said during the ceremony: “Security is extremely tight tonight. I’m told there’s concern about attacks from both the opera and ballet community.”
