Iceland announce huge update across stores for January

Many families and individuals will have noticed that the price of groceries has skyrocketed recently, which isn’t ideal at the best of times – but especially not in January after the busy festive period. 

However, Iceland is setting out to support millions of people struggling thanks to its biggest ever deals event which is taking place this month. 

The ‘Mega Deals’ event features a variety of offers including an expanded £1 or less range with over 1,000 products, alongside the return of customer favourites including 10 for £10 and half-price essentials. 

Research commissioned by the retailer has revealed that January is the most financially difficult month of the year for half of the population.

After the financial strain of the festive season, a further 50 percent of people in the UK say they are actively searching for ways to save on food and essentials, with over half 56 percent adjusting their shopping habits to cut costs.

The ‘Mega Deals’ event includes half-price laundry products, discounted frozen favourites from top brands like Quorn, Chicago Town, and Birdseye, as well as a buy two get one free offer. 

Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, said: “We know families are looking to reduce spending in all aspects of everyday life and we know that we need to do our bit to help.

“January will be a struggle for millions, it’s no secret that bills are going to rise and it’s going to hit some families extremely hard. That’s why we’re stepping up, expanding our £1 or less lines and introducing hundreds of deals. We’re here to help this January.”
