‘I was in horror film and one thing is so realistic everyone should be terrified’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Actress Jess Impiazzi has a key role in the new horror, Jitters, that focuses on the mysterious case surrounding the death of Tiffany (Impiazzi). But when it comes down to it, the cause of death relates to an AI-driven online game which dives into its players fears. The film focuses on AI, digital anxiety and trauma, some things that many people can relate to in this day and age.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Jess opened up about working on the horror film and admits she “disassociates” when doing a terrifying project like that. She said: “Jitters is horror AI, but at the moment I’m not scared of it. But sometimes with filming a horror it can tap into something, this is why I loved the script, because this is actually a real fear for people. People are all over the internet talking about the worries of AI.”

She praised bosses for creating a great horror film by tapping into something that, for many people, is actually a real fear. Jess continued “I think that fear can really be brought out here, there are people who are scared of AI, and here’s a bit more reasoning to be scared.”

While she was able to disassociate her own fears from it, there was one moment that did stick with her after being sent down an abandoned underground during filming. She explained: “One of my opening scenes is me in an abandoned underground, and that was the set. It was the old Royal Mail tube station and it would just go from one place to another.

“You think about the life that had been in there before me and now it’s quiet and empty with little tunnels everywhere. Like anything could be down there.”

She added: “There would be times I was changing and I’d be [worried] and I had to walk down there, but that was really memorable because they really went into detail with the sets.”

Jess went on to share some behind-the-scenes photos after the premiere of the event, which included her walking through the abandoned tube station which certainly appeared to have an eerie feel to it. Her followers who had attended the premiere to support her had also rushed to the comments to praise her as being “absolutely amazing”, while the producer wrote: “You are awesome Jess! Really enjoyed working with you!”

The eerie film is now hitting screens and is available to watch now on digital (Reel 2 Reel Films).
