I shop at Sainsbury’s or Aldi – but I go to M&S for delicious £1.20 item

Everyone has their preferred supermarket, whether for the weekly food shop or simply picking up a few essentials. When it comes to my weekly shopping, Sainsbury’s and Aldi are my usual choices, as their prices tend to be fairly reasonable. I previously avoided shopping at M&S due to its reputation for high prices, not wanting to experience any nasty surprises at the till. Yet for specific products, I believe M&S truly excels and justifies the extra cost.

I’m a huge fan of yoghurt, and during this season, I frequently consume it nearly every day for breakfast or as a snack. I generally stick to large tubs of the 0% fat Greek yoghurt from M&S.

Nevertheless, I discovered that M&S stocks small pots of 0% fat Greek yoghurt accompanied by a portion of fruit compote — available in cherry, peach and a honey variety.

I bought all three for a taste comparison, priced at £1.20 each. My favourite amongst them was the peach flavour.

These yoghurts are like a more refined and healthier take on a Muller Corner. The larger compartment contains the Greek yoghurt, while the smaller section is packed with a wonderfully sweet compote or honey.

At just 113 calories and over 12g of protein, these yoghurts make a brilliant addition to breakfast or serve as a satisfying snack throughout the day.

The brand Fage offers a similar product available at Sainsbury’s, though it comes only with honey rather than the added fruit. Furthermore, it contains less protein per 100g and a higher calorie count.

Aldi does stock small pots of 0% fat Greek yoghurt in flavours including mango, raspberry, honey and vanilla, however, the Greek yoghurt itself didn’t quite hit the mark.

If you’re a fan of Greek yoghurt paired with fruit, particularly peaches and cherries, these pots are absolutely worth picking up. They proved so popular that four of them were gone within a single week.
