I shop at Aldi and Sainsbury’s — but there’s 1 item I go to M&S for every week

I’m lucky enough to live only two minutes from supermarket giant Sainsbury’s and 15 minutes from an Aldi, so those two have become go-to places to pick up my weekly groceries. For the majority of my shopping, I tend to stick with Sainsbury’s for branded things, meat, fruit and veg. Then, for frozen fruit and veg and pantry staples, I head to Aldi, as the prices are incredibly budget-friendly.

However, there are a select few items that I’ve tried from Sainsbury’s and Aldi and found that I’m not a fan of and always venture to Marks and Spencer for. One item I only ever buy from M&S is skinless chicken breasts.

Chicken breasts are a big part of my diet; I use them in 4 of 7 of my meals each week, so they are a must-buy on my shopping list.

I’ve previously bought chicken breasts from Aldi and Sainsbury’s on many occasions, and I’ve noticed they’ve never looked particularly fresh and have always been tough, no matter how I’ve cooked them.

On multiple occasions, I have even found Sainsbury’s chicken going off before its use-by date, even when the meat was still sealed in its original packaging.

However, at M&S, despite them being packaged in the supermarket, they always look fresh and cook very well. They’re never tough when I boil, air fry, roast, or pan-fry them.

Given the quality of the skinless chicken breasts, I’m willing to pay £4.75 for them, even though they retail for half the price at Sainsbury’s and Aldi.

Now I never have to throw away chicken, as it always lasts until the use-by date.

I love picking up seasonings from Aldi, as they retail for as little as 59p; salt costs 69p, and you can get good-quality extra virgin olive oil for £5.49.
