Many of us fondly recall the days when a complete McDonald’s meal could be had for less than five pounds. Now, one savvy McDonald’s enthusiast has revealed precisely how you can secure a Big Mac and fries for £2.99 for life with this clever hack.

With certain Maccies orders now exceeding £10, this tip is well worth your attention. TikToker Jordon Cox, known online as @couponkiduk, claims this trick can be used an unlimited number of times. He urged followers to “never pay full price at McDonald’s”, insisting that all you require is a recent receipt and “your meal can be £2.99 every time”.

He explained: “When you get a receipt, if you quickly fill out the survey at the top, you’ll get a voucher for a £2.99 meal to your email. When you use that voucher to get one of these cheap meals, you’ll get another receipt, so you can do it over and over again.”

The survey in question is called Food for Thoughts, accessible at mcfoodforthoughts.com, and simply requires a valid McDonald’s receipt from within the past 60 days.

You’ll then need to input the 12-digit code printed at the top alongside the total amount spent to access the survey. The only condition is that each code is single-use and carries an expiry date.

A £2.99 voucher will subsequently be delivered to you, redeemable by scanning the accompanying QR code, entering the 12-digit code at a digital kiosk, or presenting it to a member of staff at the till.

Each voucher is valid solely for food ordered in physical restaurants and cannot be used for delivery.

The voucher entitles you to a Big Mac, McChicken, Quarter Pounder, six Chicken McNuggets, a Fillet-O-Fish, or McPlant, accompanied by medium fries or a side salad. Bear in mind that a drink is not included, meaning you’ll need to pay additionally for one.

That said, a Big Mac alone costs upwards of £5, so considerable savings are still on offer regardless. For customers in the Republic of Ireland, the promotion remains available, with participants able to complete the survey and receive a Big Mac, Fillet-o-Fish, or Vegetable Deluxe, plus medium fries for €3.90.

Despite the appeal of Jordon’s tip, sceptics were swift to highlight its shortcomings. One individual noted that the QR codes do not always scan correctly on the digital kiosks, whilst others pointed out that receipts are not always provided in the first place.
