Heated gilet that’s perfect for winter dog walks ‘simple yet stylish’
Temperatures might have plummeted, but that doesn’t mean you have to huddle up inside all day. In fact, getting outside in the fresh air can be an absolute pleasure – so long as you’re properly attired, which is where this heated gilet comes in.
The Mimo Style Heated Jacket for Men currently costs £55.99 on Amazon for the medium, large and extra large models, and £69.99 for the small. Even better, Prime members can apply a voucher for 15% off, expiring on December 5.
On first glance, it looks like a sleek and stylish grey and black zip-up gilet – the kind of thing that layers perfectly over jumpers and under coats. But it’s so much more than that, because it comes complete with 21 heating zones to make sure you’re nice and toasty, whatever the weather.
The heating pads are spread across the body and can be adjusted by four separate controls, meaning you can really customise the warmth to how your body is feeling. It heats up in just 30 seconds thanks to the 20,000mAh power bank, which promises up to 10 hours of continuous heat – which is more than enough for a few crisp autumn walks.
It’s machine washable, too – all you have to do is remove the battery and pop it in the machine, keeping it fresher for longer. If you suffer from aching joints and muscles, you might even find that the application of heat helps soothe any pains.
The gilet has racked up 4.5 stars out of 5 from 14 Amazon reviews. “Proper chuffed with this as I hate being layered up this time of year,” said one happy shopper, who called it “simple yet stylish”.
“Ordered the heated waistcoat, absolutely perfect for the colder days. Heats up really well. Good quality,” said another. A third added: “Really smart gilet jacket, very warm, smart and heating function is brilliant. There are lots of variations in heating level which is brilliant. I struggle with Raynauds/poor circulation and this jacket has helped greatly.”
However, some shoppers had a few gripes to share, like one who complained there were “too many buttons”. Another warned: “Battery pack is quite heavy” (although they did add that “while in use you don’t really notice it”).
If you wanted to shop around, Wowcher has cut the price of its Unisex Heated Electric Winter Gilet down to £14.99. Alternatively, if you didn’t want the heated element, you could go old school with Regatta’s Men’s Volter II Heated Gilet, which is currently reduced from £130 down to £52.
