Hear Megan Thee Stallion Team Up With BTS’ RM on ‘Neva Play’
The duo have been teasing the single for the past few weeks
Megan Thee Stallion has dropped a new single, “Neva Play,” featuring BTS member RM. The duo have been teasing the collaborative song, with Megan noting “This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.”
The single arrived with a dynamic music video. While the live-action clip does showcase Megan rapping the new track, RM does not personally appear. Instead, it features an animated version of the musician during his verse.
Megan and BTS began teasing the collab in late August, with Megan tweeting a series of emojis that included a stallion horse and a purple heart, which fans speculated as a tip to BTS. On Friday, BTS confirmed the news, retweeting Megan’s post and writing “Coming Soon!”
The rapper previously teamed up with BTS in summer 2021 for their remix of megahit “Butter,” and she joined the boy band that fall to perform it live for the first time in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.
Megan Thee Stallion — who released her third studio album, Megan, on June 28 — is gearing up to host the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 11. She’s also up for five awards, including Best Collaboration for “Wanna Be” with GloRilla and Best Hip-Hop for “BOA.”
BTS, meanwhile, have paused full band activities until 2025 as the members complete their mandatory military service in South Korea, although individually they’ve been working on projects. Most recently, Jimin’s solo album Muse arrived in July, and he teamed up with bandmate Jung Kook for travel series Are You Sure?! that debuted on Disney+ last month. Jin also served as a torchbearer during the Paris Summer Olympics in July.
