The wildfire benefit concert and auction Give a Fuck L.A. brought thousands out to the Hollywood Palladium on Wednesday night with the overarching goal of bringing people together. This mission made for some unexpected pairings throughout the night, including the partial reunion of Rilo Kiley with Paramore‘s Hayley Williams and MUNA‘s Katie Gavin.

The two musicians joined Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and Pierre de Reeder to perform “Let Me Back In,” the love letter to Los Angeles the band originally recorded in 2007 but didn’t release until 2013. “But when the palm trees bow their heads/No matter how wrong I’ve been/L.A., you always let me back in,” they sing. Rilo Kiley recently announced their first tour together since 2008.

MUNA took the stage at Give a Fuck L.A. to perform their singles “I Know a Place” and “Silk Chiffon,” but Williams stayed solo for her performance. In fact, her appearance aligned more closely with an awe-stricken music fan than her position as the frontwoman of Paramore. Rather than turning to any cuts from the band’s discography or her two solo albums, Williams opted to perform stripped down renditions of Failure‘s “Daylight” and Björk‘s “All Is Full of Love,” both alongside Failure singer Ken Andrews.

Williams also donated Paramore memorabilia, including the outfit she wore in the band’s “This Is Why” music video, for the auction portion of the event. Other items were donated by Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Cher, Jenny Lewis, Sabrina Carpenter, Sky Ferreira, Olivia Rodrigo, Caroline Polachek, and more.

The benefit concert, which was organized by Lindsey Hartman in response to the wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles in January, also featured performances from Finneas, Courtney Barnett, the Luna Lunas, Lucy Dacus, St. Vincent, Perfume Genius, and more. Proceeds will benefit Altadena Girls, Friends In Deed, One Voice, and Pasadena Humane.
