Genius hack stops tin foil ripping wrong – and costs nothing
There’s nothing more frustrating than going to grab some tin foil and finding the sheet sticks to itself – and you are faced with the seemingly impossible task of unravelling it.
Often our tin foil won’t let go of itself and clings on, making a tear that keeps unravelling in short strips. The issue is one you could do without when all you need is a quick sheet of foil to line a tray ahead of cooking. Some get so frustrated that they end up throwing away the entire roll and buying another.
But in order to save time and money, this simple trick can solve your stubborn roll problem. On Instagram Natali, a US mum who shares her best life hacks online, said: “This kitchen hack will save you a lot of money on buying new foil.” She learnt the trick from her grandma.
Natali says that if you find yourself in a tin foil pickle, with short strips unravelling, you must rip off a small part of foil and scrunch it into a ball. Rub the small ball onto the side on the roll, where it has broken apart.
Rub until the small bits fall off and you are left with one long line. Pull, and you should have a full sheet of tin foil. It’s as easy as that!
The simple hack has left people stunned. One individual, who tried and tested the trick, said: “I do this now, it really works.” Another wrote: “Wow, smart idea.” And a third added: “Useful life hack.”
Natali also shared another trick you can try with tin foil. “You won’t believe this,” she said.
If you make a sandwich and wrap it in tin foil to eat later on, Natali says that you can quickly turn it into a toastie with one quick and unusual trick.
In a clip, shared earlier this week, Natalie put some cheese in between two slices of bread. She then pressed the pieces together and wrapped them in tin foil.
Next, she lightly rubbed a hot iron on top of each side of the tin foil, going back and forth a few times. Finally, open up the tin foil and you will find your sandwich has turned into a toasted treat.
Natali dubbed it as “incredible”. She added: “This method works.”
