Gavin Adcock Claims Zach Bryan Was Drunk, Throwing Up at Oklahoma Fest
Last month, Zach Bryan scaled a fence at the Born & Raised Festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, to confront Gavin Adcock. Bryan was ultimately restricted by security guards, with Adcock later sharing a video where he said, “I didn’t take the Zach Bryan bait. I’ll be praying for him to get better — because he sure needs it.” Adcock provided new details about the incident during a recent appearance on BunnieXO’s Dumb Blonde Podcast, where he claimed Bryan was “drunk as hell” and “throwing up in trash cans” at the festival.
“He just paced around the inside of the festival all day, drunk as hell, throwing up in trash cans, going up to other artists treating them like shit, their crew shit, and just asking ‘Where’s Gavin?’” Adcock alleged. “When I got to the festival that morning, they said, ‘Hey, Zach‘s coming today, he’s probably gonna try to start some shit to get you to not go onstage, so just be aware of that.”
Adcock added that, other than their altercation at the fence backstage, he didn’t speak to Bryan. “I told him, when we first started arguing and raising hell at the fence, I said, ‘Zach, I’m not fighting you, dude. I’m about to go out here and play a show,’” he said on the podcast. “But then he kept coming at me, so I was like, I’m just gonna stir this fucker up and see what he does. Instead of fighting Zach and getting arrested, the biggest win I could do is go out there and play the rowdiest, most badass show. I’m proud of my decision and not fall into his trap and ruin the show.”
Adcock criticized Bryan for taking advantage of Gabriella Rose’s set at the festival. Bryan made a guest appearance during the singer-songwriter’s set to perform their duet “Madeline.” “That was what pissed me off the most the whole day. The fence scaling stuff, the ‘Oh, I’m gonna fight you. I’m gonna kill you,’ type stuff didn’t bother me,” Adcock said. “The fact that he took advantage of her set, somebody that was probably really excited about you coming up there and singing the song, and took that moment and screamed ‘Yeah, Gavin Adcock,’ three or four times the whole song.”
A rep for Bryan declined to respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.
Adcock previously told Rolling Stone that he sees Bryan as a person who “puts on a big mask in his day-to-day life and sometimes he can’t help but rip it off and show his true colors,” adding, “I don’t know if Zach Bryan’s really that great of a person.”
