Shoppers seeking a new smartwatch to monitor their fitness and health objectives will be delighted to learn that Amazon is currently offering a substantial discount on the Garmin vívoactive 5 GPS 42mm Smartwatch. At the time of writing, the smartwatch has a 33% discount, reducing the price from £259.99 to £174. The discounted touchscreen watch comes in navy blue or black, with both featuring a ‘bright and colourful display’.

The device boasts a battery life of up to 11 days and includes over 30 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, ranging from walking, running, and cycling, to HIIT, swimming and golf. It also offers numerous other useful features, such as energy monitoring, a sleep score with personalised sleep coaching, and comprehensive 24/7 health monitoring functions. These include wrist-based heart rate, stress tracking, menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking, meditation and more.

Some Amazon customers have swapped their Fitbit for the Garmin smartwatch, but for those wanting to compare both options, Boots is currently offering the Fitbit Inspire 3 Health and Fitness Tracker on sale. This device is now priced at £68.99, down from £84.99, and provides up to 10 days of battery life.

A cheaper alternative is Decathlon’s Multisport HRM smartwatch which costs £34.99. However, this gadget offers a shorter battery life of up to four days and can only track 13 types of sports, as reported by Birmingham Live.

The sleek black Garmin vívoactive 5 GPS 42mm Smartwatch has garnered over 2,600 reviews on Amazon, boasting a respectable average score of 4.3 out of 5 stars. One satisfied customer commented: “This is a really great fitness watch. I have had lots of Fitbits, which were really good, but this Garmin is so much better.”

Another happy purchaser remarked: “Great bit of kit for those looking to start tracking any sports activities. Easy to use and a good range of functions that I am still learning about a month into using it.”

Someone else said: “The battery also lasts for days and charges really quickly. I have the black version, which is subtle and not flashy and goes with my outfits. Well worth the investment overall.”

One person simply noted: “Fantastic watch and great app too. I know more about my body than ever before.” Sadly not everybody is impressed with the Garmin vívoactive 5 GPS 42mm Smartwatch.

One buyer reported: “Very hard to master, no manual for instructions. I am 76, which is very hard for me. Would have kept my Fitbit, but the app froze. Unless you are young, this is hard to master.”

Meanwhile, another shopper was delighted: “It’s early days as I’ve only purchased it two days ago, but so far I’m very pleased with it. It looks great and very comfortable to wear. Much better than my old Fitbit.”
