Frozen 3 release date, first look, plot and everything you need to know | Films | Entertainment
Back in 2013, Frozen grossed over $1.2 billion at the box office, a figure topped by 2019’s Frozen II, which earned over $1.45 billion.
It goes without saying, then, that the musical franchise is one of the highest-grossing of all time.
Given the billion-dollar success, it was hardly surprising that in 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Frozen 3 was in the works.
Originally set for release in cinemas on November 25, 2026, the threequel has been delayed.
A year later, Disney said Frozen III will now release on November 24, 2027. And just last month, Once Upon a Studio director Trent Correy was announced as the film’s director. As for the film’s plo,t it will include Anna’s wedding and a new member of the royal family. The official synopsis reads: “In this new chapter, witness the wedding of the century in Arendelle as Queen Anna walks down the aisle and joins Elsa on a new magical journey filled with unknown challenges. And what’s even more exciting: the royal family is about to welcome a mysterious new member!”
If that wasn’t enough, Iger has also confirmed that Frozen 4 is in the works. Expect Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff to all return as the main voice cast, too. No doubt a live-action remake of the original Frozen is coming at some point, although that’s yet to be announced.
