Former Superman star left in tears over David Corenswet reboot | Films | Entertainment
Earlier this month, James Gunn kicked off the new DC Universe with his very own Superman movie.
Taking over from Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel is David Corenswet, in a reboot that has received generally positive reviews and has taken over $400 million at the box office so far.
Former Kal-El star Brandon Routh, who played Clark Kent in 2006’s Superman Returns, has seen the new movie and given his verdict.
Speaking with Variety, the 45-year-old said: “It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. I think David is fantastic. I cried no less than three times.”
Routh, who later reprised his Man of Steel in TV crossover Crisis on Infinity Earths, added: “I see this in a different way. I come at it from a different perspective. I really got into it as I’m watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in the first conversation with Lois and Clark in the apartment. And then all of the family stuff for me really hit. It’s a big movie. There’s a lot in there. I have to go see it again.”
