The beauty world has seen plenty of new launches focusing on the benefits of delivering mutliple purposes in one product. Emma Hardie’s new Exfoliating Brightening Tonic is no exception, and you can currently get it for less.

We know that AHA and BHA are great exfoliating ingredients and you can find it in Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (£35) or Medik8’s Daily Exfoliating PHA Tonic (£32). But for those who are sensitive to acids, Emma Hardie might have just the right product for you.

The Exfoliating Brightening Tonic contains pomegranate enzymes and bakuchiol to enchance cellular renewal without the irritation. It is a gentle yet hardworking formula to deliver visibly smoother and more even skin texture. Originally priced at £32, shoppers can get it on Amazon with 22% off and pay £24.90 instead.

Pomegranate enzymes work to release trapped bacteria and remove dead skin cells that sit on the skin’s surface while nettle extract aimed to improve the appearance of open pores. With each spray, you are also keeping your skin hydrated thanks to aloe vera and glycerin to soothe and plump the skin.

Facialist Katie Gray shared: “Spritz the tonic on to a cotton pad and wipe over the face, neck and decolletage. Gently press any excess product left on the skin’s surface into the skin and follow with your usualy serums and moisturisers.”

One shopper ditched her usual acid toners for the Emma Hardie’s Exfoliating Brightening Tonic and explained: “It is much gentler way to exfoliate than the acids I had been using. I like that the formula relies on pomegranate enzymes to sort of ‘unglue’ the bonds between dead cells on the surface on your skin and it smells divine.”

Another also mentioned the scent of the tonic: “It doesn’t have a horrible smell like most toners, this actually smells good. But best of all it works well, it definitely brightens up my face and it also absorbs fast and doesn’t leave any residue or stickiness behind.”

But not everyone was impressed, an Emma Hardie fan admitted when she saw the word ‘exfoliate’ she expected to feel it and said: “But this is just a spray that you wipe over the face after cleansing. Smells nice as always but will it make a difference? Ask me in a few weeks.”

Another said there’s “no glow, no exfoliating smoothness” on her 50 plus skin and she decided to keep it in her travel bag as a back-up.

Emma Hardie proudly called their Exfoliating Brightening Tonic “our facial in a bottle”, a “hidden gem” to more luminous skin and it’s £24.90 on Amazon. PIXI Beauty’s Glow Tonic Balancing Face Toner can be a more affordable option and you can get it at £18; for blemish-prone skin, Caudalie’s Vinopure Purifying Toner also helps control sebum production and it’s priced at £22 at Boots.
