Eagle-eyed fans spot Royal Family’s subtle swipe at Prince Harry | Royal | News
Fans believe the synchronised grey is a subtle reference to Prince Harry’s now-infamous complaint about “men in grey suits”, a phrase used by his late mother, Princess Diana.
He used the phrase to describe palace officials he claims have interfered with his attempts to reconcile with the Royal Family.
Following his meeting with the King last month, the Duke of Sussex was said to be “unfuriated” at what he saw as attempts by aides to “torpedo his efforts to strike a rapprochement with his father by giving hostile briefings to newspapers.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: “The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only. The men in grey suits should stay out of it.”
Taking to X, royal fans quipped: “Oh well played Duchess of Gloucester. Grey suits galore today.”
“All senior royals in grey. Cough cough! This is the shade of the century,” chimed in a second.
While a third added: “The senior Royals in grey suits is hilarious. Their humour is great, showing they call the shots and not some make believe shadowy characters you pleb.
“Harry, we’ll see you when we want. Right now, we don’t – trust is lacking.” Stop with your nonsense. String unity messages.”
During his recent visit to the UK, last month, Harry had a private tea with his father – a meeting widely seen as a tentative step towards rebuilding their relationship.
However, after reports surfaced suggesting their reunion at Clarence House was “distinctly formal,” with Harry feeling like an “official visitor,” the narrative turned sour.
According to The Sun, Harry accused unnamed royal courtiers of trying to “put a negative spin” on his reunion with his father.
Harry’s representatives then dismissed the claims made by The Sun, stating they were “categorically false” and that the quotes attributed to him were “pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.”
