Dua Lipa‘s Radical Optimism tour is an ultimate ode to dancing the night away. Her setlist is an unrelenting string of pop hits, from “Training Season” to “Levitating” to “Physical,” and of course, “Dance the Night.” At her most recent stop in Los Angeles, Lipa took the sentiment a step further with special guest Lionel Richie, who joined her for a special performance of “All Night Long (All Night).”

“I thought tonight, for you wonderful people, we’d do something really iconic, something really amazing, something really special,” Lipa said in her introduction. “A song by an artist who has completely defined so many generations in music. Someone who has brought so much love and joy and celebration to the whole world. And it just so happens that that person is here tonight. So please, Los Angeles, will you help me in welcoming the one and only Lionel Richie.”

Richie danced his way onto the stage and spent the next five minutes jamming out with Lipa and her band. “People dancing all in the street/See the rhythm all in their feet/Life is good, wild and sweet,” the pop star sang, with the veteran musician encouraging, “Come on now!” And he, of course, took on the line, “Come on and sing my song.”

Richie is the latest artist on the roster of special guests Lipa has welcomed to the Radical Optimism tour during the surprise song portion of the set. Each night, she performs a song from an artist who hails from whichever city she’s in. But only on some nights are those same musicians in the building.

In New York, she welcomed Lenny Kravitz to the stage to perform “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” and Dallas was treated to an appearance from Leon Bridges to perform “Beyond.” Lipa has also shared the spotlight with Nile Rodgers, Chaka Khan, Mustafa the Poet, Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Vance Joy, and more.
