“He is in God’s arms now and I am okay with that,” singer writes. “I will always love you.”

Dolly Parton issued a statement thanking fans for their support following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this week. Parton and Dean were married for nearly 60 years.

“This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl,” Parton wrote on social media.

“I can’t reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God’s arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you.”

On Monday, Parton announced her husband’s death at the age of 82. “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” the singer wrote. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.” Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family.

Dean has long been a subject of Parton fans throughout her illustrious career, with many noting his rare appearances on the red carpet and in media photographs.

“He’s a good guy. He’s quiet, and I’m loud, and we’re funny. Oh, he’s hilarious,” Parton said in a recent interview. “And I think one of the things that’s made it last so long through the years is that we love each other, we respect each other, but we have a lot of fun. Anytime things get too much tension going on, either one of us find a joke about it.”
