As we step into September, the weather has been up and down with the Met Office experts foreseeing a month of cloudy situation with downpours and fairly summery weather.

To get prepared for the cold months to come, eagle-eyed shoppers are snapping up a bargain deal from the Debenhams sale. The offer sees customers pick up a huge saving on a waterproof parka.

The Regatta Sabinka Hydrafort Waterproof Parka Jacket comes with various shades and its price has been reduced from £120 to £34.75 – a massive 71% off. With a few colour options running out of stock, you can still find the jacket in cream, burgundy, bright yellow, khaki or black between sizes 8 and 16.

The longline jacket is made with a waterproof ‘Hydrafort’ fabric that can keep you dry in thundery showers and strong winds. The ‘thermoguard’ insulation in the jacket lining helps to keep you toasty during those chilly early mornings or late evenings.

It comes with a faux-fur trim to the hood and a drawstring at the waist for a casual yet flattering style, which goes well with a top and jeans for city walks

Shoppers shared their thoughts on the versatile jacket and a five-star fan reviewed: “Good quality and great price, love the colour. This will be one of my winter favourites.”

Another made the purchase ahead of time, she shared: “I was amazed how warm this coat is, without being heavy to wear. It has lots of good touches against the weather such as cuff tighteners. It would be perfect for windy winter walks on the beach or something like that.”

But some people said there’s “no zip pocket feature on the front of coat as shown on the website” and they decided to return the coat.

“Very good waterproof coat. Lovely colour. Comfortable and warm. Perfect for walking the dogs in all cold and wet weather conditions,” a happy customer rebutted.

Roman’s Khaki Lightweight Quilted Coat is not as heavy duty as the Regatta version but the ribbed cuffs and strong zip fastenings can keep you warm in autumn – it’s on sale for £40.

Want to add some florals to your outerwear? Columbia’s Powder Lite Hybrid Hooded Jacket in a lovely lily print is slashed to £55 from £110.
