Cheapest and most expensive places for a pint in UK — full list
The weather is warming up and beer garden season is almost here. There is little better than enjoying an ice cold pint in the sunshine – but not all pubs across the UK are created equal. With the cost of living crisis still very much front of mind for many, some places are less likely to break the bank.
According to small business comparison site, Bionic, the average price of a pint in the UK is now £4.85, a 27.6% increase from £3.80 in 2025. However, if that’s a little out of your comfortable price range, it is still possible to find a pint for under £3.
In fact, in one Greater Manchester town the average price of a pint is just £2.50. This cheap watering hole is Bury, home to more than 35 pubs with high ratings between 4.2 and 4.9 stars – perfect for enjoying a budget friendly night out.
In second place is Burnley with an average pint price of £3.
However, not everyone is so lucky. In some places the average pint price has skyrocketed to a whopping £6.75 – 170% more than the country’s cheapest. This unlucky region is surprisingly not London – instead, it’s Oxford taking home the crown.
Although London is in second place with an average price of £6.50, it’s a shared title. Also coming in second is Brighton and Hove, as well as Guildford, Reading, and Basingstoke.
