Charli XCX, Post Malone Receive Additional 2025 Grammys Nomination
Recording Academy nominee update also gives Sufjan Stevens his second-ever Grammy nod for work on John Legend’s “Always Come Back”
Charli XCX and Post Malone received an early Christmas present from the Recording Academy Friday when both artists were gifted an additional nomination at the 2025 Grammys.
In the latest batch of adjustments to the nominee list, both Charli XCX and Malone were given Best Recording Package nods for serving as art directors on Brat and F-1 Trillion, respectively. Both albums were previously included in the category, but neither artist were listed among the eligible nominees when they were first announced.
Charli and Malone will both compete against Kate Bush in the category, with that singer earning her first Grammy nomination in nearly 30 years for serving as art director on her Hounds of Love the Baskerville Edition; similarly, Bush scored a nod in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category for Hounds of Love the Boxes of Lost at Sea.
The update pushes Charli’s nomination total to eight at the 2025 Grammys, including for Record of the Year (“360“) and Album of the Year (Brat). Malone’s official count is now seven, including Best Country Album (F-1 Trillion) and Song of the Year (Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight“).
In an updated posted Thursday by the Recording Academy, Sufjan Stevens received his first 2025 Grammys nomination — and only his second Grammy nomination ever — in the Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals category for his work on John Legend’s “Always Come Back.”
The 2025 Grammys take place Feb. 1 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
