Britney Spears Dismisses Odd Behavior on L.A. Highway
“What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords,” singer writes of standing through a moonroof on 101 Freeway
Britney Spears dismissed headlines about her bizarre behavior on a Los Angeles highway this week, writing on social media, “Nothing is what it seems.”
Earlier this week, video of the singer emerged that appeared to show Spears standing through the moonroof of an SUV that was driving on the 101 Freeway. At one point, Spears arched her back and sprawled atop of the Mercedes while the car traveled at 45 miles per hour, Page Six reported.
Spears spent about two minutes standing through the moonroof before the SUV — driven by a man in a cowboy hat — exited the highway and pulled into a gas station. “Britney just went through the sunroof for a quick moment,” a source reasoned to the Daily Mail. “She wanted to see what the traffic was about up ahead because the cars came to a stop.”
On Saturday, Spears shared a screenshot of the incident on Instagram, along with a caption explaining what she was doing. “What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords !!!!! yet the days and hours of my reality !!!!!! Nothing is what it seems,” she wrote. “Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more.”
The highway incident is the latest odd occurrence involving Spears in recent months. In May, the singer was reportedly acting “erratic” and walking around with a knife during a night out at dinner recently; her rep claimed the purported events were being “completely blown out of proportion.”
Spears’ representative added, “This constant attack on everything that she does, and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous, and it needs to stop now.”
In April, Spears pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of wet reckless after she was arrested in March on a suspected DUI charge. She voluntarily — and briefly — checked herself into a treatment facility. As part of her plea deal, Spears agreed to a 12-month probation period, regular meetings with a psychologist and a psychiatrist, as well as completing a three-month DUI class.
