Boden fans are rushing to grab a pair of stylish slip ons that have just been slashed in price, with shoppers calling them the ‘perfect casual shoe alternative’. Originally priced at £45, the Laceless Canvas Plimsoll shoes are now just £18 in the Boden sale, making them an affordable wardrobe update for autumn and beyond.

The shoes come in post box red/soft pink, ivory (£45) and navy (£45) across sizes 36 (UK 3.5) to 42 (UK 8.5) and are designed with a laceless slip on style, combining comfort and ease with a timeless casual look. Crafted from durable cotton canvas with a sturdy rubber sole, they’re perfect for everything from weekend errands to relaxed brunches.

Lightweight, breathable and versatile, these Boden plimsolls are the kind of everyday essential shoppers will reach for all season long. Pair them with jeans, trousers or a long dress for an easy, laid back look that never goes out of style.

For an alternative option, M&S also has its Leather Side Detail Trainers for £49.50. These come in Black Mix, Brown, Beige Mix and Burgundy across sizes 3 to 8. The trainers are designed in a regular fit, with a lace up fastening and a flat heel, they also have Freshfeet technology which is said to help minimise odour for all day comfort.

Or, there’s the Gold Metallic Canvas Lace Up Trainers which are down to £13.49 from £17.99 at New Look and come in sizes 3 to 7. These trainers have lace up fastening, an almond toe silhoutte and are made with the brand’s comfort features, meaning they have cushioned padding, softer linings and flexible soles.

The Laceless plimsoll from Boden however has been rated highly on its website. One person said: “My feet are quite wide and I often struggle to find comfortable shoes but these glide on and perfectly. I really like the vibrant unusual colours for a plimsole-style shoe.” Another wrote: “Fit perfectly – usual size 4/37. Simple, comfortable with soft inner sole. They are what they are – no more, no less.”

A third shopper commented: “Have just bought my third pair of these plimsolls. Latest pair was to replace my first pair which are starting to wear out after two years of hard wear. I love them. They are so comfortable – ivory ones especially. Can walk for miles in them. Easy to pack and look great with everything.”

Not everyone felt the same way however, and one said: “I bought these shoes in ivory and they were super comfortable from the first wear. I loved them so much that I bought the red too. Sadly, the red fabric was not as soft… it was a bit itchy, more like the kids’ version of this shoe (the difference is also reflected in the reviews of the adult and kids versions). Boden I love the new colors but please make them as comfortable as the ivory!”

Another wrote: “I loved these plimsolls, but as soon as I put them on the heels felt too small for me, so sadly I returned them.”
