B&M’s drinks trolley that looks like £349 John Lewis version
B&M is offering a £20 drinks trolley that could effortlessly compete with a comparable version at John Lewis, priced hundreds of pounds higher. The budget-friendly alternative from the high-street retailer means customers can achieve a similar ‘elegant’ aesthetic in their home for considerably less.
“This stunning piece combines elegance with functionality.”
B&M continued: “It is perfect for serving cocktails or showcasing your favourite spirits. Features a luxurious gold finish to add a touch of glamour to any setting.”
Whilst the two drinks trolleys appear similar at first glance, there are nevertheless several differences, beyond price. B&M’s version measures 37.5cm wide, 37.5cm deep and 62cm high, whereas John Lewis’ model is 53cm wide, 69cm deep and 80cm tall, making it larger, with additional surface area to accommodate more items, reports the Mirror.
In the product description on John Lewis’ website, it notes: “Inspired by Art Deco design with a slim metal frame, this bar cart has two open shelves to display spirits, mixers and barware. Set on wheels so it can move with the party.
“Two open shelves. Versatile design: the minimal metal frame has an airy yet elegant look that fits in anywhere. Features a sleek Antique Brass finish on a mild steel frame and a bottom mirrored shelf to reflect light up.”
B&M says drinks trolleys not only look fantastic but are also easy to manoeuvre, making them perfect for entertaining guests. They allow visitors to serve themselves, reducing trips to the kitchen. They can also serve as focal points, mobile side tables, dessert stations, and coffee areas.
The drinks trolley isn’t the sole ‘bargain’ furniture item at B&M that could compete with John Lewis. The retailer is also stocking a ‘stylish’ lamp priced at £6 that bears a striking resemblance to a £160 John Lewis alternative.
Among its newest collections is the Mini Ribbed Lamp, available in four colours. On its website, B&M claims the “practical and stylish” £6 lamp will “illuminate your space”. The lamp resembles a John Lewis version, priced at £160. The retailer’s Country Rib Table Lamp is available in two colours: cream or myrtle green.
