Blondshell Drops New Song ‘23’s a Baby’
The hypnotic “23’s a Baby” appears on Sabrina Teitelbaum’s upcoming album If You Asked For A Picture
After days of teasing on social media, Blondshell has finally dropped her new single “23’s a Baby.”
The track — featured on her upcoming album If You Asked For A Picture — kicks off with a tumbling drum fill and slick riff, as Sabrina Teitelbaum grapples with the mindfuck that is navigating your twenties. “23’s a baby/Why’d you have a baby,” she sings in the hypnotic chorus that’s bound to be in our heads for days.
The song’s video, directed by Yazz Jansen, is loosely inspired by the Instagram account DILFs of Disneyland. Catch it below, where Teitelbaum pushes a stroller around Central Park, flanked by multiple dudes.
“The song is partially about being in your twenties and feeling like you’re supposed to know everything (your parents even had kids around that age!) yet you’re truly in the weeds trying to figure out who you are,” Teitelbaum said in a statement. “I wanted it to have a bit of a nursery rhyme-feel. It’s a heavy subject, so it was important to have fun when we made it.”
If You Asked For A Picture, out May 2 via Partisan Records, marks Teitelbaum’s second album as Blondshell (she dropped her excellent self-titled debut in 2023). “23’s a Baby” follows the singles “Two Times,” “T&A,” and the previously released “What’s Fair.“
Teitelbaum will embark on a tour in support of the album this spring, kicking off with a release show on May 2 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s Masonic Lodge. After wrapping up the North American trek in late June, she’ll head to Europe the following month.
