Beyonce ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Stage Gets Preview
The 32-date stadium tour will begin in Los Angeles on April 28 with an elaborate stage design and highly-anticipated setlist
Beyoncé is all saddled up and ready to get her rodeo on the road. In a few hours, the musician will kick off the Cowboy Carter tour in Los Angeles, the first of 32 stadium shows scheduled in support of her country opus. On the eve of opening night, Beyoncé shared a preview of the elaborate stage design planned for the tour, paired with the caption: “She’s Coming.”
The video begins high in the rafters. As the camera moves forward, the expanse of SoFi Stadium comes into view. It captures crew members still hard at work assembling the set. The base of the stage is built in the shape of a star with three additional catwalks extending from there. It appears as though there are four additional risers and sections in place on the floor.
Also known as the Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour, the run of live shows follows 2023’s Renaissance world tour. Beyoncé offered the first taste of Cowboy Carter live when she headlined the NFL Christmas Game Day halftime show, dubbed the Beyoncé Bowl. Her set that night included the ballads “16 Carriages” and “Blackbiird,” performed alongside country singers Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts. She called back to the Renaissance era with “My House” and welcomed collaborators Shaboozey and Post Malone to the field.
Beyoncé delivered live performances of “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “Ya Ya,” “Jolene,” “Spaghettii” mixed with “Riiverdance,” “Levii’s Jeans,” and “Sweet Honey Buckiin.’” When the Cowboy Carter tour kicks off tonight, the audience, some of whom are already lined up outside the stadium, will be the first to hear selections from the extensive album track list live. “Bodyguard,” “Tyrant,” and “Ameriican Requiem” are among the most anticipated songs fans are hoping make the cut. For reference, the Renaissance tour set spanned between two and a half and three hours.
The Cowboy Carter tour will extend through July 11. Beyoncé will make stops in Chicago, New Jersey, London, Paris, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.
