Best Roman spring season picks under £50 as chosen by a fashion writer

Spring is starting to bloom in the fashion world, with clothing retailers beginning to release new season collections. A wave of fresh air in our wardrobes, I for one can’t wait to say goodbye to big coats and thick jumpers, in favour of lightweight knits, dresses, and jackets.

One brand I’ve spotted that have already launched a spring preview is Roman. Hailed as an affordable yet stylish retailer, the brand’s new collection is a refreshing mix of bold floral prints, calming colours and comfortable springtime pieces. 

I’ve picked out a few of my favourite Roman items from the spring range – all priced under £50, proving shoppers don’t need to break the bank to create a chic outfit in spring. From beautiful blouses to flattering trousers and flowing dresses, these are the new-in Roman fashion fans will want to snap up before sizes sell out. 

Elsewhere, Boden have dropped brand new spring pieces online, with trends including butter yellow, colour blocking and stripes cropping up. Marks and Spencer are also getting in on spring action with new-in denim, dresses and jackets. 

Paired with a favourite pair of jeans, this floral white blouse is truly stunning. At £35 it’s sure to become a staple in anyone’s work or day off wardrobe and I love how it can be worn buttoned up or undone with a plain t-shirt underneath. 

Shoppers that have already added it to their clothing collection have said it is a ‘pretty blouse – understated yet smart’. Someone else wrote it will ‘go well with jeans I already own’, however, it has been noted ‘it did come up a little big’.

Again, these navy pleated trousers are a worthy option as they can be styled for both casual and more formal occasions. They retail for £36 and are woven from a comfortable and breathable fabric. 

The wide leg design is universally flattering and customers say they are a ‘good quality and price’. There’s no option for petite sizing, so those with a shorter frame may find they need to be tailored but the material does allow for this.

An easy throw-on-and-go dress is just the thing when the weather warms up. This A-line midi dress is ‘very flattering and comfortable’ according to customers and it comes in several spring colours. 

Priced at £40, the dress is certainly practical, with added pockets, but it’s far from frumpy thanks to a secret waist hem. I love the idea of wearing this dress with ballet pumps and a cardigan.
