‘Best film I’ve ever watched’ is masterpiece period drama – on BBC | Films | Entertainment

A period drama with outstanding reviews is now available to watch for free in the UK. Viewers have called it one of the best films they have ever seen, and many say they were surprised by how impressive it is from the very beginning. 

People who have watched it say the story pulls you in straight away and the acting is some of the best they have seen in years. Others have praised the scale of the production and the atmosphere it creates, with many calling it a powerful and memorable historical drama.

It has a 95% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes along with a high audience score, with many viewers saying they discovered it only recently and were not expecting a film of this quality.

The movie in question is Margrete – Queen of the North. It’s a 2021 Danish period drama about Queen Margrete I, who united Denmark, Norway and Sweden under the Kalmar Union.

The film follows a political and personal mystery involving a man who claims to be her long-dead son.
