Beauty fans ‘keep getting compliments’ wearing £45 scent

For those in search of a new signature scent that balances airy florals with a sophisticated, musky depth, a standout deal has arrived just in time for the new season. The perfume in question is Narciso Rodriguez’s Cristal, which has had an impressive price drop at Debenhams.

Cristal is a floral-woody musk designed for women; it is widely considered ideal for everyday wear and has built a loyal global fanbase since its launch in 2022. The fragrance was made by Natalie Gracia-Cetto, a renowned French perfumer born and raised in Grasse, the world’s perfume capital. Otherwise, Chloé Eau de Parfum (£95, Boots) is another classic floral choice. It leans into peony and rose rather than the woody amber of Cristal, but it shares the same clean, sophisticated reputation, making it a safe bet for the office or daytime events.

Narciso Rodriguez’s Cristal has earned an impressive 4.5 out of 5-star rating from 999 reviews on the Debenhams website. One shopper said: “With hints of bergamot, rose and essence of cedar, the Narciso Rodriguez Cristal Eau de Parfum is a perfect everyday scent.

“I love that when applied, it lasts all day. I get lots of compliments when I use it, too. This might be my new favourite perfume.”

Another fan described themselves as ‘obsessed’, writing: “I am obsessed with the smell of this perfume, it’s so sweet and light smelling, I always get compliments when wearing it, I will definitely be going out to purchase it when I run out of the sample. Stunning perfume.”

However, one reviewer was less impressed by the staying power, noting: “This is a fresh, powdery, musky scent. It is very feminine, and I sprayed it on myself fresh out of the shower after moisturising with an unscented lotion.”

“I liked the fragrance, but feel it did not last very long, maybe a few hours at best. Maybe pairing it with the lotion will work better.”
